SpamCop

Finally, forwarding those spam emails to SpamCop has paid off. Just as Charl, recently, I got a reply, the other day, saying: “the user account was blocked.”

Very nice!
Now, that’s the kind of mail I’d like to get more often!

MPlayer 0.90

I downloaded the recently released MPLayer 0.90 last week.

You also have to download a number of codecpacks, if you want to play Windows Media, RealPlayer, or even Quicktime (!) movies. I don’t know how long MPlayer has had Quicktime support, but it seems to work very well now. There is (almost) no need for CodeWeavers’ CrossOver Plugin anymore.

Radio silence

I have been rather quiet lately, (and not only on my weblog,) due to tragic family circumstances.

My 14-year-old niece has died of cancer, recently, within three months after the very first signs, and within a mere three weeks after hearing her disease was incurable.

What a huge impact something like this has on the family, friends, and school, but even on complete strangers.

For us, it is still unbelievable, and incomprehensible… and it seems so terribly unfair!

Yet, life goes on, and so must we…
