Lapidation (2)
Continuing on the lapidation story, I would like to vote for introduction of the death penalty. And I don’t mean some “civilised” death penalty like a lethal injection, the electric chair, or hanging… I think lapidation is a good idea. I think the convicted should suffer a slow and painful death.
Of course I’m not talking about people who have committed minor offences, small delicts, or even larger crimes, like thieves and murderers… No, I am talking about the real scum-of-the-earth, the utter lowest life-form possible.
Yes, I am talking about the SPAMMERS!
Lapidation
In the past few days I’ve read a couple of news items about death sentences in Iran. But I’m not going to comment on that.
I mean, what can you say about a teenage girl being sentenced to death, because she was forced into prostitution since she was eight years old. What can you say about the fact that this 19-year old girl, who is mentally disabled, and has been raped and molested since she was 8, has been charged with “acts contrary to chastity” and giving birth to an illegitimate child. So, according to the Sharia, the girl, Leyla M., is sentenced to death by hanging. But of course, hanging is not enough, so she will first receive 95 lashes with a steel cable whip! What can you say…?

Cha cha cha
It’s been a long time since I’ve taken any sort of exam. And it’s been even longer since I’ve been really nervous before an exam. But yesterday evening I was pretty nervous; because yesterday evening we had to do our dancing “exam”.
Although you probably cannot really fail unless you’re seriously motorically impaired, it’s probably the performing before an audience that is quite scary!
It was our first joint (and my very first) dancing test. We started taking (beginner) lessons in September, because we will have to do the opening dance on our wedding party, next May.
So, it was pretty nerve-wrecking, but it went (reasonably) well, and we passed! In January, we will continue with the next (advanced 1) course.
Jesus died in Japan aged 106
This article’s title drew my attention just now. The article (in Dutch) states that Jesus did not die at the cross. It was his younger brother that switched places with him, allowing Jesus to get away safely, to Japan no less, where he married, got three children, and died at the age of 106 years old!
In the Japanese town of Shingo, they found a document in 1935, containing supposedly the will of Jesus. Unfortunately, the original was destroyed in WWII and all that is left of it is a copy in the local museum.
By the way, a quick search on google reveals that this is not really new news; one of the first search results, telling the same story is dated April 2000. But it was new for me, and it’s certainly entertaining to read!
The Independent has a more elaborate story about this, dated two days ago.
Zandvoort
Again, we went away for the weekend, this time to Zandvoort. Together with a couple of friends, we went to Center Parcs Park Zandvoort. Close to the racing circuit at Zandvoort, where we heard and saw people racing and skidding.
We didn’t do anything special, we went shopping in Haarlem on Saturday and walked along the beach on Sunday, but it was a nice and relaxing weekend.
Yet Another Google Bomb
Oh well, I’ll join in the Google bombing. An ignorant asshole has written a column about The Netherlands.
This ignorant asshole works as a columnist for FoxNews, but apparently doesn’t really care to do some research before writing his nonsense.
Apart from The Netherlands being “the land of wooden shoes, windmills, Rembrandt and wonderful breakfasts”, he’s saying that “a Dutch hospital is (…) killing newborn babies who don’t measure up to an arbitrary standard”. Also, Holland has “no governing moral standard”, and “people smoke dope openly”. Finally, “all of this in a country where the Nazis murdered Ann Frank just because she was Jewish and therefore less than human.”
So, here is the link: ignorant asshole.

Incredible
Went to see The Incredibles last Saturday. Brilliant movie! You should really go and see it, if you haven’t already.
Mr. Incredible, at his dull job at an insurance company. Lucius Best, a.k.a. Frozone, played by Samual L. Jackson – you really recognise the actor in the character! And of course baby Jack Jack, especially at the end of the movie. All of them are just marvellous!
Before the feature film, one of Pixar’s short films was shown: Boundin’, also quite hilarious!
@Bristol
We were away for a few days to visit my brother and sister-in-law in Bristol, again.
And again, we went flying with Easyjet. We were probably somewhat late booking the flights, because there ware quite some differences in prices from one day to the next. Of course, we wanted the cheapest flights, therefore we didn’t go from Friday to Monday, but from Saturday to Tuesday!
So, we arrived on Saturday evening. We were picked up at the airport by my brother and his wife! (Last year, they didn’t have a car yet – they got it about one week after we left – so we had to take the bus then.) They brougt us to their new house.
“Hey”, the observant reader will say, “didn’t they move last year?”
Yes, you’re right, they did. But they moved again. That’s why we went to visit them, to see their new house!
This time they bought a house, and a very nice one too. Brand new, 5 minutes walk from the station, 5 minutes walk from a large shopping centre.

Do you know what these have in common?
They all need accounts, and each account needs a password.
Do you get what I’m hinting at? Are you familiar with that problem?
