Porting from SGI to Linux

OK, I’ve got the RWB VRX library working under Linux!
Eeeh? Say what?
The Responsive Workbench library with the Virtual Reality eXplorer!

We’ve got this Virtual Reality Workbench running on a SGI Onyx2, and one of our PhD students, Michal Koutek, wrote a library, based on SGI’s Performer, for building applications for this machine.

Ben’s gone skiing

I learned on New Year’s Eve that a couple of my friends, with whom I went skiing last year, had planned their skiing holiday for this year, independently of each other, to the same place, in the same week.

So, I decided I’d also arrange something there and then, and today, I got the confirmation from the hotel… I’m going to Selva Gardena, Italy in a few weeks! And I’m very much looking forward to it!

The Two Towers

I’ve been to London between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
Went to see the apartment of my brother and his fiancĂ©e. They’ve lived in that apartment for about a year or so, but I hadn’t even been there yet!

We went to see The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers. Great movie! Well, at least for my part!
However, my future sister-in-law would’ve walked away if it hadn’t been for us. She didn’t dare to watch the massive fight scenes with all the horrid creatures like Orcs and Uruk-hai. Afterwards she kept saying she couldn’t believe the movie was for 12 years and older…
But, as I said, I thought it was a great movie… Looking forward to part three!
